i20 Gets New Magna Executive, More Features with IVT

Hyundai Motor India has updated the i20 premium hatchback lineup with new features, the launch of a Magna Executive variant, and broader availability of the IVT automatic transmission. These changes are aimed at offering better value, more choice, and improved accessibility for Indian buyers in the premium hatchback space.
New Magna Executive MT Launched – Priced at Rs.7.51 Lakh
The new Magna Executive MT sits just above the base Era variant. It’s designed for buyers who want a little more in terms of safety and features without crossing the 8 lakh mark. Priced at 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom), it provides added value over the base variant.
Key Feature Addition Over Era:
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): Actively notifies the driver of tire pressure changes, improving on-road safety.
This variant is ideal for first-time buyers and daily city users looking for a dependable hatchback with essential safety upgrades.
IVT Automatic Transmission Now More Accessible
One of the biggest changes is the expansion of IVT availability. Earlier, IVT was offered only from the Sportz trim (9.47 lakh). Now, Magna IVT is available at 8.89 lakh, reducing the entry point for automatic transmission buyers by 58,000.
IVT Transmission Now Offered In:
- Magna
- Magna Executive MT (New)
- Sportz
- Sportz (O)
- Asta (O)

Sunroof Now Available in Magna IVT
Hyundai has added a single-pane electric sunroof to the Magna IVT. Until now, this feature was only available from the Sportz(O) variant. By bringing the sunroof to the Magna IVT, Hyundai makes lifestyle features more affordable for buyers. This move gives the i20 a stronger edge over rivals like the Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza, offering more features at a mid-range price.
Sportz(O) Gets Premium Additions – At a Higher Price
The Sportz(O) variant now includes:
- Push-button start/stop
- Premium 7-speaker Bose audio system
These features, earlier reserved for the Asta variant, now enhance the appeal of the Sportz(O), making it a well-balanced mid-tier option.
