Hyundai's grand i10 is becoming a popular hatchback among Indians. This small family car has crossed 3 million in sales. The company stated that over 2 million units were sold in India, and 1.3 million units were exported to more than 140 countries.

As a global export hub for Hyundai Motor Company, HMIL stands strong as India’s largest exporter of passenger vehicles.

“We are proud that the total sales of the i10 have crossed 3 million units. With over 2 million units sold in India and more than 1.3 million units exported to global markets, the brand i10 stands as a shining example of HMIL’s commitment to delivering world-class products. This success reflects the trust of our customers, the strength of Indian manufacturing, and HMIL’s dedication to creating smart mobility solutions for the world. With our upcoming plant in Maharashtra, we aim to expand exports to emerging and developed markets, increase the contribution of exports to overall sales, and reinforce our commitment to ‘Make in India, for the World’,” said HMIL Managing Director Unsoo Kim.

Currently, Hyundai’s compact hatchback i10 is entering its 18th year.

The i10 has evolved through three generations—i10, Grand i10, and now Grand i10 Nios. It is currently available in three engine options: 1.2-litre Kappa petrol manual, 1.2-litre Kappa petrol AMT, and 1.2-litre bi-fuel Kappa CNG.

Hyundai introduced the i10 in India in 2007. The current version, the Grand i10 Nios, was launched in 2019. This generation offers several safety features including six airbags, ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), three-point seat belts for all seats, and seat belt reminders.

Other features include Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS – Highline), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), cruise control, wireless phone charger, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and an 8-inch (20.25 cm) touchscreen audio display.
